Ingredients
Marinara Sauce
- 1 Onion
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Cumin
- 1 teaspoon Chilli powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric
- 1 teaspoon Piri piri sauce
- 2 teaspoons Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- 3 tablespoons Oil
Pizza dough
- 500 grams Strong bread flour
- 21 grams Yeast
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Sugar
- 1/8 cup Yogurt
- 150 millilitres Milk
- 150 milligrams Water
Instructions
Pizza Dough
- Place the yeast in a bowl add sugar and combine until it turns to liquid
- Pour milk into a jug and to this add hot water and yogurt. The mixture should be warm; to this add the yeast, and stir well.
- In another bowl add all the flour, salt, and oil and stir.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix to combine. The dough should come away from the edges.
- Knead for 10 minutes
- Cover with cling film and leave to rise until doubled in size.
Marinara Sauce
- Peel and finely dice onions.
- Put oil in a pan and add onions to it. Fry for about 2/3 minutes until the onions soften.
- Add cumin, turmeric, chilli powder, stir add tomato, salt, sugar piri piri sauce.
- Cook on medium when you see bubbles, reduce heat and simmer for 5 to 15 mins until you can see the oil surface to the top.
- Punch the dough to remove all air bubbles, and divide into two. roll each dough and place onto a baking sheet.
- Put a half a cup of marinara sauce and spread to cover the pizza.
- Sprinkle with cheese and then the topping of your choice.
- Bake at 180 degrees for 20 minutes or until base and topping are cooked.
